Ryoutaro Doujima is the Protagonist's maternal uncle who will be his guardian in Yasoinaba. Because of his unpredictable shifts as a police detective, Ryoutaro is away from home most of the time, and has a strained relationship with his daughter Nanako.

In the latter half of the game, the Protagonist gets a threatening letter, warning him to stop meddling with the TV World or someone close to him will be harmed. At first, it's discounted as a joke, but a second letter appears, and is also seen by Ryoutaro. Upon finding out that the Protagonist was involved in the case all along, Ryoutaro took him station for questioning.

Nanako disappears from home later that night, apparently kidnapped by a disguised Taro Namatame, the former councilman's secretary involved with Mayumi Yamano. Ryoutarou chases the delivery truck that was used in the kidnapping, but loses control of his SUV, causing an accident that incapacitates him. Nanako and her kidnapper are nowhere to be found in the truck. He is obsessed with a hit-and-run that killed his wife, and continues to investigate it, to the neglect of his daughter. His events involve him coming to the resolution that he was running away from his fatherly duties by using the case of his wife's hit-and-run, because he was scared of being a father to Nanako.

Ryoutaro is also one of the S. Links in the game later on. Befriending him will help you realize the potential of the Hierophant arcana. Ryoutaro, like his daughter, must be done as quickly as possible before rescuing Nanako, since he becomes confined to the hospital later in the game.
